Program Overview & Philosophy

The AllCare Psych Postdoctoral Fellowship in Clinical & Medical Psychology is an intensive, 24-month (4,000-hour) residency designed to fast-track new psychologists into leaders in integrated primary care, medical psychology, psychopharmacology, and health psychology.

As a core member of a high-volume, multi-site, multidisciplinary primary care biopsychosocial facility, fellows work side-by-side with physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, lab technicians, mental health counselors, social workers, and healthcare administrators. Fellows gain hands-on clinical mastery in medical adherence, health behavior change, and complex diagnostic management across a dynamic patient population of 37,000+ patients.

Fellows are embedded within AllCare’s comprehensive primary care network, which integrates general medicine, pediatrics, laboratory services, radiology, gynecology, women's health, anti-aging, cosmetics, aesthetics, and behavioral health.

Core Training Components

  1. Integrated Primary Care & Medical Psychology

    • Co-located and fully integrated care delivery alongside medical providers.

    • Consultation-liaison service across primary care, pediatrics, gynecology, and subspecialty clinics.

    • Rapid psychological evaluations, medical adherence counseling, and chronic disease management.

  2. Psychopharmacology & Health Psychology

    • Specialized training in psychopharmacological principles, drug-behavior interactions, and combined treatment protocols.

    • Assessment and management of complex medical-psychiatric presentations.

  3. Multidisciplinary Team Collaboration

    • Working in tandem with physicians (MD/DO), mid-level providers (NP/PA), clinical social workers (LCSW), mental health counselors (LMHC), lab technicians, and healthcare administrators.

Scholarly Activity & Research Opportunities

  • Research Time: Formal protected research time is not built into the standard 40-hour weekly schedule (0% research time dedicated to routine duties).

  • Research Opportunities: Because AllCare has operated as a multi-site biopsychosocial integrated facility for over 15 years serving 37,000+ patients, abundant archival clinical data and observational research opportunities are available for interested fellows outside of primary direct care hours.

Supervision, Faculty & Mentorship

  • Licensed Supervisors: 10 doctoral-level licensed supervisors provide clinical oversight and mentorship.

  • Supervision Structure: Minimum of 2 hours of weekly individual supervision by licensed psychologists, supplemented by interdisciplinary group supervision and case consultations with medical staff.

Eligibility & Prerequisites
